    Hi Steve
My sister taught me this trick regarding those unsolicited credit card offers that clutter up the mail box.
I open each one, find the application form, write “DECLINED” across it in big bold letters.
Then I take the form, and any other pieces of paper that were included in the offer that might contain a code or other information you could consider “private”, and stuff all that into the return envelope that they so kindly provide. Then, if there is still room, I will stuff any other paper included with the offer, into the return envelope, seal it, and drop it in the mail.
So now they have to pay the postage, and all (or most) of their promotional crap is returned to them, and they can deal with the waste (I assume they have a big industrial shredder they’ll drop it in).
I did this several times with American Express offers. Listening to this podcast on the way home tonight reminded me that I have not received an offer from them in quite a while. So maybe it works.
Enjoy your podcasts, thanks for the effort it takes to create and share them.

    Good luck

    Mel

I’ve always felt a little weird about this practice but if it got Amex to stop sending their garbage to my mailbox then I may have to try it.

      Thanks Mel!
