I recently helped my church facilitate Financial Peace University. As a reminder of their hard work and what to expect in the final class, I composed this email. Feel free to copy it and use a similar message for your class:
Hello FPU students,
As we are about to come to a close we want to thank each and every one of you personally for taking the step towards making personal finances a priority in your spiritual walk. Even if you haven’t attended ever class, you have the tools it takes to beat debt and change your future forever.
We’ve heard testimonies of students paying off cars, cutting up credit cards, and marriages being strengthened because of $1,000 being put into the bank for emergencies. What a testimony of faith and proof that this debt elimination thing really does work!
This Sunday we are asking you for three things:
- Earlier in the class we asked you to write down your total non-mortgage debt. This week we will again ask to come ready prepared to anonymously record your updated amount on a 3×5 (we will provide) and we will share the total at the end of class.
- Bring your book one last time.
- Invite someone to come to class with you. Spread the word about FPU and how it changes lives!
The lesson this week is “The Great Misunderstanding” and is often called the best of the series. You don’t want to be late for this one. It will inspire and encourage you as we release you to the wild and pray that you’re new-found financial freedom becomes a testimony to your family, your friends, and the community as a whole. For greater things have yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city.
How do you encourage your students to stick with it until the end? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
