What fun. I was able to spend a good part of a workday with General Managers who are doing a fantastic job. Their hard work is visible in many aspects through the growth of their business. They work for a company that has been able to maintain market share and remodel many of their units without going into debt. Things look good for their future, even when their stock is down 35% from the 52-week high. Some of them feel a little overworked and some of those overworked folks won trips to Hawaii. Now that is fun!
Things are beginning to move again. Some of the underbrush has been removed and the trees and plants will grow back stronger this year (yes, this was meant as a financial statement). Just as Winter changes into Spring, so will many things that have been bothering folks over the past 6-9 months. I challenge you to reflect on what you were doing in September 2008. Don’t things just look a little bit brighter today?
I know it does for those General Managers. In fact, they are going ot have to wear shades.
