When you think of syndicated radio shows, what comes to mind? Most of us would say something like talk radio hosts “Rush Limbaugh” or “Sean Hannity”, maybe some news, sports, or PBS programs. Talk radio hosts like Rush and Sean have worked hard to strike deals with large broadcasting companies like Premier Radio and ABC Radio. They have big listenership and a big company behind them to get coverage all over this nation.
Awesome news announced this week! “The Dave Ramsey Show” is now available in 400 markets! That doesn’t sound like a lot when compared to Rush, Sean, or – dare I say it – Howard Stern when he broadcasted on public airwaves. But Dave Ramsey is not associated with a large nationally owened company and continues to be an independent. That’s pretty amazing.
If you know me personally then you probably know that I am a great fan of the program. The radio show takes calls from listeners with questions about their finances, and he answers them with honest, common-sense answers with a little humor sprinkled here and there.
I’m such a fan that I assisted in teaching “Financial Peace University” (a 13-week class taught by Dave on DVD with small group discussions) at my church and even received my certification from the Lampo group (Dave’s company) to teach the course to businesses. I am currently teaching a company, Independent Services Company who care so much for their employees that they paid to have 28 households go through the class. The course is as entertaining as it is educational, and it changes lives!
I am very proud of Dave’s company and their success. This is a milestone that reminds me that anyone can succeed if they have a good work ethic, integrity, and serve others.
Now we need to get him onto 500 stations.

Been looking at getting TechTalk syndicated recently … it’s not an easy thing by any means! And unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any one right or easy way to do it. Like you said it takes lots of persistence!
Maybe I’ll have to bug Dave Ramsey and see if he has any advice for a struggling small time radio host … at least i wouldn’t be any competition for him 😉
